FG Urged to Create SBA Bureau to Harness Potentials of Youth Population

The Nigerian government has been urged to harness the potential of teeming youth to the country’s economic development with the creation of the Special Business Administration (SBA) Bureau committed to deploying vibrant creative and entrepreneurial powers of youths through modalities spread across the country.

Arc. Kabir Ibrahim, National President, All Farmers Association of Nigeria (AFAN), made the call in his good will message to the youth on the 2025 celebration of the International Youth Day (IYD), adding that “the future of Nigeria is in the hands of our Youth and the sooner leadership at all levels recognize that the faster will we attain sustainable prosperity”.

Kabir Ibrahim, also the President Nigeria Agribusiness Group (NABG) and BOT Chairman, NAFN (National Agricultural Foundation of Nigeria), counselled that SBA’s when created will help Nigerian youth build sustainable business.

In his IYD message to the youth titled “The Lessons of Marking International Youth Day (IYD) In a Nation like Nigeria with a Majority Youthful Population: An Elixir for Sustainable Prosperity” the AFAN president said “All we need to do is to support the Youth to create sustainable IBs (Inclusive Business) through the evolution of SBA (Small Business Administration) bureau with offices in the 774 LGAs.

The SBA should provide business plans at no cost to participating Youth and also facilitate access to credit from financial institutions amenable to financial inclusion”

He stressed that for Nigeria to be great with a sustainable future, the contributions and actions of the youth are imperative adding that. “The great and sustainable future of our world today depends on the action or inaction of the Youth and Nigeria at this time needs the collective action of its teeming Youth to become really sustainable, if ever!

The Nigerian Youth, he said must be encouraged to be innovative, IT as well as AI compliant and selfless as well as groomed to be their brothers’ and sisters’ keeper for impactful and sustainable economic growth to ensure sustainable National food security.

“I have followed up a Youth round table on Youth Policy on TV which gave me the impetus to write this piece as an encouragement to the Nigerian Youth to really wake up and take the gauntlet to make Nigeria great.

“The future of Nigeria is in the hands of our Youth and the sooner leadership at all levels recognize that the faster will we attain sustainable prosperity”
