Kwara Partners FG, Stakeholders to Boost Mining Sector

Kwara State Government has reiterated commitment towards synergizing with the Federal Ministry of Solid Minerals Development and other relevant stakeholders with the aim of boosting mining practices and other solid minerals activities in the State.
This was made known by the State Commissioner for Solid Minerals Development, Dr Afees Abolore Alabi during the inter-Ministerial Press briefing organised by the state Ministry of Communications in llorin.
Abolore explained that the Federal government had identified the State as one of the leading solid minerals producing states in the country, pointing out that the Ministry would utilize the full potentials of mineral resources abound in the state to the fullest.
He said, in other to enhance the seamless investment opportunities in mining operations and to increase the State internally Generated Revenue potentials, Alabi noted that the state government has fulfilled the Registration requirement of five(5) Special Purpose Vehicles (SPVs) and now awaiting licenses before the end of the first quarter of the year.
The Commissioner stressed that the state government’s efforts towards the reduction of illegal mining to a barest minimum assuring that a robust collaboration with relevant security agencies at various levels had already been established and consolidated, In a bid to scale up security challenges at mining sites across the State, the Commissioner stated that, visitation and discussions with the Heads of the different Security Agencies to safeguard all the mining sites.
