Investors earn N786.24bn as Ellahlakes, CHAMS top demands

Investors in the NGX Equities market on Monday held on firmly to the earning promises held by Ellalakes and CHARMS as the combined demand of the two stocks accounted for 62 per cent of the top five active stocks of the Monday trading session.
Remarkably, the Nigerian Exchange started the week strongly on Monday, sustaining its bullish trend as the AllShare Index surged 0.86% to 144,822.61 points.
This pushed year-to-date gains to 40.71% and boosted market capitalization by N786.24 billion to N91.92 trillion.
Market sentiment was decisively positive, with 48 advancers overwhelming 23 decliners to yield a strong 2.1x breadth ratio.
MANSARD, SEPLAT, SFSREIT, ELLAHLAKES, and CHAMS led gainers, while INTENEGINS, MCNICHOLS, THOMASWY, BERGER, and ABCTRANS topped losers.
All sectors closed in positive territory. Oil & Gas index appreciated by 3.35 per cent, Insurance index by 3.13 per cent, Commodity index by 1.72 per cent growth, Banking by 0.64 per cent, Consumer Goods by +0.12 per cent, and Industrial by +0.01 per cent.
Trading activity showed mixed results—volume declined 4.56% to 519.92 million units and transaction values fell 25.89% to N14.55 billion, while deals surged 31.13% to 35,490, indicating increased frequency of smaller trades.
Top five gainers
MANSARD opened the week as the highest gainer stock with N1.44 or 10.00 per cent gain, closing at N15.84, followed by SEPLAT with N537.90 or 10.00 per cent gain closing at N5917.20 per share, while SFSREIT advanced by N34.55 or 9.97 per cent, to end the day at N381.10 per share.
ELLAHLAKES appreciated by N1.34 or 9.95 to end the day at N14.81 per share, while CHAMS closed the top five gainers group at N4.23 per share, following N0.38 or 9.87 per cent growth in share price.
Worst five losers
INTENEGINS opened the week as the worst loser with N0.25 or 8.42 percent dip in share price, closing at N2.72 per share, followed by MCNICHOLS with N0.29 or 8.31 per cent decline in price to end the day at N3.20 per share, while THOMASWY closed third in the group at N2.99 per share, having lost N0.25 or 7.72 percent of its value.
BERGER declined by N2.70 or 6.80 per cent to N37.00 per share, while ABCTRANS closed the top five losers’ stocks group at N4.05 per share. Following N0.25 or 5.81 per cent slash.
Top five trades
ELLAHLAKES emerged as the top traded stock to open the week with 80,067,193.00 million transacted shares worth N1,184,515,445.51 billion, followed by CHAMS with 30,212,717.00 million shares valued N127,255.678.15 million, while STERLINGNG closed third in the group with 24,743,131.00 million shares worth N205,653,573.20 million.
CUSTODIAN polled a total turnover of 21,826,364.00 million shares worth N903, 739,588.90 million, while GTCO closed the top five active stocks group with 20,056,563.00 million shares worth N1, 968,052,674.65 billion.
