Foreign trade: IMAN Board Approves Appointment of DR. Ndubisi George Ugo As National President

The Board of Trustees (BOT) of the Importers Association of Nigeria (IMAN) has approved the appointment of Dr. Ndubisi George Ugo, as its national president.

This was disclosed in a signed statement, announcement made available to WestAfrica Businessnews weekend.

The statement read, “The Importers Association of Nigeria (IMAN) wishes to formally notify all relevant stakeholders, inter alia, government agencies, trade unions, maritime practitioners, trade facilitators, and our foreign partners in international trade that the Board, pursuant to its letter dated 21st July 2026, has approved the elevation and appointment of Chief Dr. Ndubisi George Ugo, the former National Vice Chairman of the Importers Association of Nigeria, as the National President of the Importers Association of Nigeria (IMAN), with effect1st August 2026”

According to IMAN, the appointment is in recognition of the new president’s pedigree, dedication, hard work, outstanding contributions, and administrative ingenuity demonstrated during his tenure as National Vice Chairman.

By this appointment and elevation, Chief Dr. Ndubisi George Ugo is hereby entrusted with the responsibility of taking charge of the administration and driving the affairs of the Importers Association of Nigeria (IMAN) in his capacity as National President.

The Board of Trustees expressed confidence that Dr, Ugo’s wealth of experience, leadership qualities, administrative competence, and commitment to the Association will contribute significantly to the growth, unity, stability, and advancement of IMAN.
