Entrepreneur to Create Skills’ Acquisition Centres for Diaspora Nigerians

Nigerian multidimensional businessman, Chief Livinus Okwara has said that he will create robust programs that would enhance skills’ acquisition by Nigerians the Diaspora.

Okwara, who is the Chairman, RIMAX Institute of Computer College, Lagos, said the programme would ensure that those who are out of job or unable to secure a meaningful one, are properly taken care of by the unique programme.

He said this will be achieved through strategic frameworks, including creation of skills’ acquisition centres in foreign countries, where Nigerians reside, to see to the upskilling and welfare of some citizens in foreign lands in need of critical needs and upliftment.

According to the Septuagenarian, “This will be unveiled in many countries across the globe where Nigerians reside, through acquisition and resuscitation of moribund factories”, by his team.

He said beyond these visionary enterprises, Nigerians will be gainfully trained and eventually employed to run the production lines of the acquired and resuscitated factories.

Chief Okwara, a multiple holder of several chieftaincy titles across Nigeria, will later this year be conferred with the title of Nna Ndi Igbo in Diaspora, by the Ohanaeze Ndigbo, Lagos state.

According to the programme of events, the historic coronation is scheduled to be held at the Tafawa Balewa Square, Lagos, later this year.

Our correspondent learnt that this leadership position saddles this pan-Nigerian with the responsibility that Nigerians in the Diaspora get the best human capacity development in their host countries; and as well deploy their knowledge in meaningful contributions to the development and growth of their home country.

In a press briefing in Lagos to announce the forthcoming conferment, Chief Okwara said: “a mantle will be handed over to me to fly to any part of the world to actualize this.

“These include going to the liaison offices of the countries that promise to take care of Nigerians when they come.”

Nigerians, he said, will no longer be found wanting or as strangers anywhere you find us across the world, this will be achieved through the initiatives of my position as Nna ndi Igbo in Diaspora, I am not only doing this for the igbos, I will continue to work for all Nigerians, based on the bright prospects we see ahead.

Okwara, who is a stalwart of the governing All Progressives Congress, (APC), also highlighted the current political dispensation in the country saying: “President Tinubu, is churning out policies that will make Nigerians to be highly accomplished, to make exploits across the world. With what I see, he is prepared for the job. Since he came in as the president, we are no longer masquerading in the dark.

“There is an attempt to provide a solution and when the solution finally comes, it will be beneficial to all.” He said that Nigerians are in the Diaspora trying to acquire knowledge in all fields of human endeavours,
