Tinubu defends foreign trips, says ‘every handshake for Nigeria’s prosperity’
- Approved lifetime salary for senior interior officers
President Bola Tinubu says his recent foreign visits to Japan and Brazil were centred on unlocking opportunities that will drive growth and create jobs for Nigerians
In a post on X shortly after he arrived from a 10- day bilateral engagement in Brazil, Japan and a brief visit to Los Angeles, United States, Tinubu said his trips were motivated by the determination to boost prosperity for Nigerians.
“Every handshake, every agreement, and every meeting is guided by one goal: to secure opportunities that translate into growth, jobs, and prosperity for Nigerians,” he said.
Tinubu said in Japan, Nigeria deepened ties that will attract investments in industry, technology, and human capital.
In Brazil, he said the partnerships forged will aid Nigeria’s trade, agriculture, aviation, and finance and strengthen confidence in the nation’s economy.
“In Japan, we deepened ties that will bring new investments in industry, technology, and human capital. In Brazil, we advanced partnerships in trade, agriculture, aviation, and finance,” he said.
“This is the new Nigeria we are building together; a Nigeria built on sustainable reforms that will outlast us rather than one built on rhetoric.”
The president painted a picture of a Nigeria that is confident abroad, resilient at home, and determined to create value for every citizen, both within the country and in the diaspora.
