Tinubu Appoints New Heads For Biosafety, Tourism, Investment Agencies

Nigeria’s President, Bola Ahmed Tinubu has approved the appointment of three new heads of federal agencies, signalling what the presidency described as a move to strengthen critical sectors and institutions across the country.

In a statement issued on Tuesday, September 30, 2025, by Segun Imohiosen, Director of Information and Public Relations, the presidency confirmed that the appointments take immediate effect in line with statutory provisions.

The statement highlighted the agencies affected by the development and the names of the individuals entrusted with leading them.

In the National Biosafety Management Agency, “President Tinubu has appointed Bello Bawa Bwari (Niger State) as the new Director General for an initial term of four (4) years, effective from September 18, 2025 in accordance with the provision of Section 5 of the National Biosafety Management Agency, 2015.”

For the Investment and Security Tribunal, “Hon. Barr. Aminu Junaidu (Zamfara State) has been appointed as Chairman/ Chief Executive Officer of the Investment and Security Tribunal for a five-year term, effective September 18, 2025.”

Similarly, in the Nigerian Tourism Development Corporation, the president gave approval for “the appointment of Olayiwola Nurudeen Awakan as Director-General of the Nigerian Tourism Development Corporation for an initial four-year term, effective September 2, 2025.”

The presidency emphasized that these appointments are not just routine administrative changes but reflect a deliberate effort by the Tinubu administration to reposition institutions for greater efficiency and impact.

In charging the new officials with their responsibilities, the statement added, “The President tasks the appointees to contribute their expertise in the development of the agencies for the good of the nation.
