- Confluence, Aba, Lagoon, Savannah Warri, Ibadan, states in the making

The House of Representatives on Thursday received proposals for the creation of 31 new states.
Benjamin Kalu, deputy speaker of the house and chairman of the constitution review committee, announced the development during plenary on Thursday.
The proposed states to be created ranks the North Central zone as the highest beneficiary zone with seven proposed new states, followed by the South West with six proposed new states.
North West and South East ranked third in the group with an equal number of proposed five number new states respectively, while South-South and North East have four proposed new states respectively.
The seven proposed states from the North Central zone are, Benue Ala state rom Benue state, Okun state from Kogi state, Okura state from Kogi state, Confluence state from Kogi state, Apa Agba state Benue south senatorial district, Apa state from the Benue state and Federal capital territory, Abuja.
The proposed fourth states are from the NORTH-EAST zone of Nigeria Are, Amana state from Adamawa state, Katagum state from Bauchi state, Savannah state from Borno state and Muri state from Taraba state.
NORTH-WEST in the proposal will have five new states, namely, New Kaduna state from Kaduna state, Gurara state from Kaduna state, Tiga state from Kano state, Kainji state from Kebbi state and Ghari state from Kano state.
SOUTH-EAST is proposed to have five new states namely, Etiti state, Adada state from Enugu state, Urashi state, Orlu state from Imo state and Aba state from Abia state.
SOUTH-SOUTH, in the new states creation proposal will have four states, namely, Ogoja state from Cross River state, Warri state from Delta state, Bori state from Rivers state and Obolo state from Rivers and Akwa Ibom states.
SOUTH-WEST zone is pro- posed to have six new states, the states to be created are, Toru-Ebe state from Delta, Edo and Ondo states, Ibadan state from Oyo state, Lagoon state from Lagos state and Ogun state, Ibeju state from Ogun state, Ife-Ijesha state from Ogun, Oyo and Osun states and OkeOgun from Ogun, Oyo and Osun states.
Benjamin Kalu, deputy speaker of the house and chairman of the constitution review committee, said the committee has reviewed the proposals for the creation of new States in accordance with section 8(1) of the constitution.
